★ Femme fatale meets manga-inspired sketch art meets Seoul street style ★

Ladies from Shanghai, Japanese-inspired sketch art and Korean street fashion? That’s an amalgam of influences right there. Yet, that's exactly how I'd describe the ever-evolving style trends of today.

Dara Dara is an eco-conscious capsule collection that features hand-drawn, pencil sketched designs of sultry-looking noir sirens. An organic, gender neutral T-shirt/ sweater line inspired by manga’s signature flair& style and K-fashion streetwear.

les Designs:

If I were to name a common thread that links all of them, it would probably be the resemblance they bare to the femme fatale archetype. All the characters that appear in my clothing mirror strange femme fatales of sorts, as each one of them holds that seductively twisted allure and distinctive blasé aura of the hardboiled women. Yet while there’s much of the notorious mystery in their mien, their eyes betray a sense of mystification — something that the femme fatale has lost throughout her long history of representation. In a way, my femme fatales are returning to their mythical origins of supernatural prowess. Dara Dara is giving femme fatales back the supernatural fierceness and mystical sensuality that time deprived them of, allowing them to reclaim their identities as the phantasmagorical forces they originally were.
Besides their magical charms and power, my characters are also more than just lethal temptresses - as behind that act of seduction lies a softer, more humane side (a side that, again, has rarely been portrayed appropriately in pop culture).

You may know the femme fatale as the woman behind the lipstick and smoking gun. In my realm of dreams, femme fatales are on the soft side of strong, they wield katanas instead of guns, they prefer fruit popsicles & makgeolli-flavoured candy over plain cigarettes, they seek drama not crime, nor vengeance, romance not fleeting passion. They are romantics, but also fighters. Gentle warriors filled with sensual magnetism, mesmerism and emotional realism, whose power comes from their ambivalent complexity and layered femininity.

I like to think that each one of us has our own femme fatale, and Dara Dara is all about embracing and nurturing that misunderstood, dark side.

Dara Dara is dedicated to creating:

-products that respect people and the environment
-unique and original designs meant to showcase the imperfections of pencil drawing
-committed to turning daydreams into custom pieces.
